Repeat Prescriptions

 

 Registered clients can order repeat medication prescriptions for their pets by calling the surgery on 01375 373202 or using the online form below.

The below online form is only available for clients currently registered at the practice, once your request has been received by the team it will be passed to a Veterinary Surgeon to complete. Please allow at least 48 hours before collection. Any problems with the request a member of the team will call you to discuss.

 

 All repeat prescriptions including flea and worm medication need 48 hours notice for us to prepare the order for you.

 As the majority of our medications we use at this surgery are Prescription Only Medication Veterinary (POM-V) your pet will need to be registered at this surgery and have been seen within a 3-6 months period by our veterinary surgeons. This is a legal requirement as well as an opportunity to check that the correct dosage of medication is being given.

 

  POM-V Antibiotic, Antiviral & Antiparasitic medication all require for you pet to have been seen by a Veterinary Surgeon for us to dispense and may require a revisit before these can be given to your pet including ongoing conditions. New rules regarding how we dispense these medication came into effect on the 1st September 2023 and is aimed at reducing the risk of antibiotic resistance and environmental effects from these medications.

 Medication Refund Policy

​

 Riverside Veterinary Surgery is only able to refund blister-packed medication and this can only be done within 28 days of purchase. Loose tablets, refrigerated items, open food and liquid medications can not be refunded. Unfortunately, we are not able to refund any medication purchased under pet insurance. Any returned medications will incur a £2.00 restocking fee.

 Written Prescriptions

​

 Written prescriptions are available on request from the veterinary surgeon and require 48 hours notice along with a charge of £15.00. The written prescription fee will need to be paid before we are able to email the prescription to a online pharmacy.

 Certain drugs, for instance phenobarbitone, can only be supplied for one month at a time, by law.

​

 Any medication not collected from the surgery within 28 days of ordering will be restocked and will require reordering.
